Superman is back! Man of Steel recounts the story of how the world’s favorite superhero came to be.

Aside from Henry Cavill who got to wear the blue tights, a bunch of big Hollywood names have joined the cast of this Zach Snyder film. Enjoy seeing Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Michael Shannon.

You do not have to miss Superman for too long since in two years you will be seeing him back on the big screen.


8. Ironman 3

To those who are excited to see more of Ironman’s adventures, the wait is over since this latest upcoming movie will be in the international theatres late in April.

Robert Dowrey, along with Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, is back. In this movie, Tony Stark has to face the Mandarin, when he seeks for those who are responsible for the destruction of his private world. On his way of the quest, he discovers more of himself and Ironman.

Ironman 3 is the sequel to the Ironman and Ironman2 installments. Shane Black’s movie is the first to come out from Marvel’s team of avengers after its successful on-screen last year.


7. Gravity




This latest upcoming movie gives us a break from the lines of superheroes we must see above and starts the sci-fi domination this year.

Gravity gives way to director Alfonso Cuaron’s come back to the sci-fi genre. His first movie in over six years, this film from the maker of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the highly anticipated movies this year.
Here, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock star as astronauts who fight for their survival after their space station got shattered in a disaster.

If you have seen Cuaron’s Children of Men, you should expect watching a visually captivating cinematography in an ambitious space setting.

If District 9 was a big hit three years ago, expect Neill Blomkamp’s latest upcoming movie to be as irresistible.

This sci-fi action film got a high-caliber cast, with Matt Damon as its lead and also including Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Alice Braga, and District 9’s Sharlto Copley.

Elysium’s story revolves around a 2159 setting, where the rich live in a luxurious space station in the earth’s orbit while the poor inhabit a ruined earth. Damon here is a self-seeking ex-convict with a mission to polarize the society.

5. Thor: The Dark World




Bet to be the best comic book film of 2013, Thor: The Dark World is a sequel to Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. This is also the second Marvel movie to come out after The Avengers.

This time, Games of Thrones’ director Alan Taylor takes the seat from Branagh. Chris Hemsworth is back, with Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, and Tom Hiddleston. Rumour has it too that Zachary Levi and Chuck join the cast.

In this aftermath, Thor fights to save the Nine Realms and the earth from an enemy who existed way before the universe was born. Malekith wants to pull back the universe into the dark and even Asgard and Odin cannot defeat him. Therefore, it is no one but Thor to face him and in his journey, he is reunited with Jane Foster.

4. Pacific Rim

A fusion of sci-fi and fantasy, Guillermo del Torro’s latest upcoming movie is a sure excitement for movie goers.
Pacific Rim, which is a futuristic film, combines technology and epic. When giant monsters, which is inspired by Japanese’ giant monsters known as Kaiju, come out of the ocean to terrorize cities, such as Tokyo and Los Angeles, humans have to depend on their gigantic robots to face these sea creatures.
Among to join the cast are Hellboy’s Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, and Idris Elba. Pacific Rim is expected to be one of the best B-movies of 2013.

3. Monster University (Monsters, Inc. 2)

If you have watched Monsters Inc. you would not want to miss this one. The latest upcoming 3D movie from Pixar is a prequel to this animated film.

Directed by Dan Scanlon and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, this film is set way back when Mark and Sully are still in their university days. This tells how the two became bestfriends as they tried to face their fear in the Monster University.

John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Jennifer Tilly, Steve Busceni, Frank Oz, and John Ratzenberger are back, with James Coburn out (because he already died) and Kelsey Grammer in.

Before seeing monsters back on screen, you should check out The Blue Umbrella first—a short film which goes before it.

2. Star Trek Into Darkness

The long wait for Star Trek fans is over as the sequel to this movie is coming this 2013.

J.J. Abraham’s sci-fi action film is the twelfth in the series of Star Trek, which the latest before this came out in 2009.

As the Enterprise returns home, its crew find Earth in chaos and Starfleet in ruin. Leading the crew, Captain Kirk has to hunt the responsible party down and bring harmony back to their home.

Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Zoe Saldana, and Bruce Greenwood are back to their roles with Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve added to the cast.

1. The Hobbit: Desolation of the Smaug




After its successful release last December, Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit is back for its second part. The Lord of the Rings three-part prequel has excited fans from all over the world and this one is expected to be a big hit again.

This film follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves through Mirkwood, then to Lake-Town and the Smaug’s Lair. They are also to discover what has become of Gandalf along the way.

Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage and the rest of the cast return to this latest upcoming movie and you will see them again after six months.
